Public Hearing for 89 Tapton Avenue development
Quick view
The Town of Princeton held a public hearing for the proposed development of 89 Tapton Avenue. The hearing was to consider an Official Community Plan (OCP) Amendment and a Zoning Amendment Bylaw. The proposed development includes a duplex with a laneway, and the OCP Amendment would redesignate the property from Town Centre to Medium Density Residential.
The Chief Administrative Officer, Lyle Thomas, presented the specifics of the proposed bylaws. He mentioned that the development started in 2021 and 2022, and the Council gave first and second reading to the bylaws on February 7th, 2024. Staff sent out notices of the public hearing, and they received preliminary approval from the Ministry of Transportation on February 15th.
The proposed development includes a mixed-use development on the corner of Brid Street and Tapton Avenue, and two twin duplex units with a more dense setback plan. The CD3 Zone was adopted by Council in the summer of 2023 to meet the standards for the duplexes. The first duplex is now at the building permit stage and under plan review for the first unit.
