FEES AND CHARGES AMENDMENT NO. 1 BYLAW

A bylaw to alter fees and charges for services

WHEREAS the Council of the Town of Princeton deem it advisable and expedient to update fees and charges to reflect current costs for services; NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Town of Princeton , in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows:

1. That Schedule “K” of the Town of Princeton fees and Charges Bylaw No. 1026, 2022 is

repealed as of 12:00 AM on January 31, 2025.

2. That the attached Appendix 1 of this bylaw will become Schedule “K” of the Town of Princeton

Fees and Charges Bylaw No. 1026, 2022 as of 12:01 AM on January 31, 2025.

3. That all other clauses, descriptions, rates, interpretations, schedules and amendments therein

remain in full force and effect before and after the implementation of this bylaw.

4. That this Bylaw be cited for all purposes as the “Town of Princeton Fees and Charges

Amendment No. 1 Bylaw No. 1055, 2024. READ A FIRST TIME this 18th day of December 2024 READ A SECOND TIME this 18th day of December 2024 READ A THIRD TIME this 18th day of December 2024 ADOPTED THIS 15th day of January 2025

Appendix 1

SCHEDULE ‘K’ – Cemetery Fees for Service

K01 – Grave Space, Resident is defined at Section 4.02 of the Town of Princeton Cemetery Administration Bylaw No. 857, 2011 or its subsequent amendments to inter a full body burial. The person must be a resident as defined per Section 2 of the Town of Princeton Cemetery Administration Bylaw No. 857, 2011. This fee is subject to have an amount transferred to the Princeton Cemetery Care Trust Fund in accordance with regulations set out in the Cremation, Interment and Funeral Services Act of British Columbia at the owner’s expense. The fee will be charged per grave space. K02 – Grave Space, Non-Resident is defined at Section 4.02 of the Town of Princeton Cemetery Administration Bylaw No. 857, 2011 or its subsequent amendments to inter a full body burial. The person must be a non-resident as defined per Section 2 of the Town of Princeton Cemetery Administration Bylaw No. 857, 2011. This fee is subject to have an amount transferred to the Princeton Cemetery Care Trust Fund in accordance with regulations set out in the Cremation, Interment and Funeral Services Act of British Columbia at the owner’s expense. The fee will be charged per grave space. K03 – Cremation, Resident is defined at Section 4.02 of the Town of Princeton Cemetery Administration Bylaw No. 857, 2011 or its subsequent amendments to inter cremated remains. The person must be a resident as defined per Section 2 of the Town of Princeton Cemetery Administration Bylaw No. 857, 2011. This fee is subject to have an amount transferred to the Princeton Cemetery Care Trust Fund in accordance with regulations set out in the Cremation, Interment and Funeral Services Act of British Columbia at the owner’s expense. The fee will be charged per occurrence. K06 – Grave Preparation, Infant/Child is defined at Section 7.01 of the Town of Princeton Cemetery Administration Bylaw No. 857, 2011 or its subsequent amendments for full body burials of a deceased aged 18 years or less. The fee will be charged per occurrence. K07 – Grave Preparation, Cremation is defined at Section 7.01 of the Town of Princeton Cemetery Administration Bylaw No. 857, 2011 or its subsequent amendments for a cremation service The fee will be charged per occurrence. K08 – Exhumation, Adult is defined at Section 7.01 of the Town of Princeton Cemetery Administration Bylaw No. 857, 2011 or its subsequent amendments for exhumation of remains after a full body burial of a deceased aged 19 years or older. The fee will be charged per occurrence. K09 –Exhumation, Infant/Child is defined at Section 7.01 of the Town of Princeton Cemetery Administration Bylaw No. 857, 2011 or its subsequent amendments for exhumation of remains after a full body burial of a deceased aged 18 years or less. The fee will be charged per occurrence.

K10 –Exhumation, Cremation is defined at Section 7.01 of the Town of Princeton Cemetery Administration Bylaw No. 857, 2011 or its subsequent amendments for exhumations of remains after a cremation service. The fee will be charged per occurrence. K11 – Grave Liners, Adult is defined at Section 6.11 of the Town of Princeton Cemetery Administration Bylaw No. 857, 2011 or its subsequent amendments for a grave liner for a full body burial of a deceased aged 19 years or older. The fee will be charged per occurrence. K12 – Grave Liners, Adult is defined at Section 6.11 of the Town of Princeton Cemetery Administration Bylaw No. 857, 2011 or its subsequent amendments for a grave liner for a full body burial of a deceased aged 19 years or older. The fee will be charged per occurrence. K13 – Full burial after hours is defined at Section 6.04 of the Town of Princeton Cemetery Administration Bylaw No. 857, 2011 or its subsequent amendments for any service performed for a full burial after 2pm on a weekday or anytime on a Saturday, Sunday or Statutory Holiday. The fee will be charged per occurrence. K14 – Cremation after hours is defined at Section 6.04 of the Town of Princeton Cemetery Administration Bylaw No. 857, 2011 or its subsequent amendments for any service performed for a cremation service discharged after 2pm on a weekday or anytime on a Saturday, Sunday or Statutory Holiday. The fee will be charged per occurrence. K15 – Transfer Fee is defined at Section 4.04 of the Town of Princeton Cemetery Administration Bylaw No. 857, 2011 or its subsequent amendments for the transfer of ownership of any plot, full burial or cremation to another person. This fee is charged per transfer. K16 – Memorial Installation, Granite is defined at Section 9.02 (d) of the Town of Princeton Cemetery Administration Bylaw No. 857, 2011 or its subsequent amendments for the installation of a memorial marker at the grave of a deceased person. The memorial marker must be purchased by the owner or agent of the owner and the memorial must be made of granite. This fee is charged per installation. K17 – Memorial Installation, Bronze is defined at Section 9.02 (d) of the Town of Princeton Cemetery Administration Bylaw No. 857, 2011 or its subsequent amendments for the installation of a memorial marker at the grave of a deceased person. The memorial marker must be purchased by the owner or agent of the owner and the memorial must be made of bronze with a concrete surround. This fee is charged per installation.
