TOWN OF PRINCETON

OFFICIAL COMMUNITY PLAN BYLAW NO. 1044, 2023

A Bylaw to adopt the Town of Princeton Official Community Plan.

WHEREAS Council wishes to adopt an Official Community Plan pursuant to Section 472 of the Local Government Act;

AND WHEREAS Council has prepared a new Official Community Plan covering the entirety of the area within the Town of Princeton municipal boundaries;

AND WHEREAS Council has considered providing opportunities for public consultation and provided these opportunities it considers appropriate pursuant to Section 475 of the Local Government Act;

AND WHEREAS Council has specifically considered whether consultation is required with the persons, organizations, and authorities listed in Section 475(2)(b) of the Local Government Act;

AND WHEREAS Council has consulted with the Board of Education of School District No. 58 and has sought its input as to the matters set out in Section 476 of the Local Government Act;

AND WHEREAS pursuant to Section 477 of the Local Government Act and after first reading of the bylaw to adopt the Official Community Plan, Council has, in sequence:

1. considered the proposed Official Community Plan in conjunction with its most recent financial plan and any waste management plan

2. referred the plan to the Agriculture Land Commission for comment

3. held a Public Hearing pursuant to Sections 464 through 470 of the Local Government Act

NOW THEREFORE Council of the Town of Princeton, Province of British Columbia, in open meeting assembled ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:

1. This Bylaw may be cited for all purposes as the “Town of Princeton Official Community

Plan Bylaw No. 1044, 2023.”

2. Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 808 and amendments thereto as it applies to the Town

of Princeton is hereby repealed.

3. The following documents and maps attached hereto are hereby made part of this bylaw

and adopted as the Official Community Plan 2042 for the Town of Princeton:

• Schedule A: Town of Princeton Official Community Plan 2042 Text • Schedule B: Land Use Map • Schedule C: Growth Management Map • Schedule D: Existing Water Infrastructure Map • Schedule E: Existing Sanitary Sewer Infrastructure Map • Schedule F: Transportation Network Map • Schedule G: Active Transportation and Parks Map • Schedule H: Environmental Features Map • Schedule I: Floodplain Map • Schedule J: Steep Slopes Map • Schedule K: Development Permit Areas Map • Schedule L: ALR Map • Schedule M: Implementation Tables

4. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, or phrase of this Bylaw is for any reason held

to be invalid by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction, the invalid portion shall be severed and the decision that it is invalid shall not affect the validity of the remainder.
